Important Information Regarding Town Dollars Gift Card Program

Town Dollars Gift Card Program has been phased out

After a detailed assessment of the Town Dollars gift card program, including survey input from participating merchants, the Port Townsend Main Street Board of Directors has decided to phase out the Town Dollars program.

According to Susan Windle, Port Townsend Main Street Board President, “We continue to address the goals that originally led to the creation of the Town Dollars program, but believe that ending the program and redirecting our energy toward more focused local shopping promotions will remove some of the obstacles that the program inherently presented,” Technical interface issues and real-time customer service were among those factors. While the program showed some measures of success, the benefits did not outweigh the challenges.

Town Dollars gift cards may no longer be purchased or redeemed at merchants as of May 31, 2010.
